100% KONA COFFEE REVIEWS
“Best Coffee In America” – Forbes
Kona Coffee is the original Taste of Aloha! Grown in Hawaii, in the Kona Coffee belt, 2500 feet up the side of Mauna Loa, the world’s largest active volcano. The Kona Coffee belt is a tiny strip of land, barely 1 mile wide and less than 30 miles long. The combination of rich volcanic soil and Hawaiian sunshine produces one of the best coffees in the world!
But – not all Kona Coffee is the same. Kona Coffee has different grades, from big flavorful beans to smaller beans that are less flavorful. We only sell the top grades of Kona Coffee and the very rare Peaberry Kona. The Kona Coffee that is best of the best. Our Kona coffee is pure, 100% Kona Coffee. No blends. No inferior beans. As Forbes said, “Koa Coffee is the real thing.”
This is the Kona Coffee Forbes called “Best in America”
In 1997, Koa Coffee started as a small family business. A true “Mom & Pop” with a little boy and his dog running and playing in the Hawaiian sunshine as they tended their precious Kona beans.
Blue Ribbons and Buzz…
Over the years, our hand-picked Kona Coffee has won the coveted Gevalia Cupping Competition, PCCA Coffee of the Year, we were featured in Forbes “Top 10 Coffees of the World” and we made Forbes’ “50 of America’s Best” as the “Best Coffee in America.”
With much Mahalo to our friends and our many loyal customers, Koa has grown and continues to grow. Along the way, we became the American dream, proudly providing employment to the many staff who bring their friendly smiles and Aloha spirit to Koa Coffee.
Our Pure Kona Coffee has never changed…
Except, perhaps, to become better as we adopted more quality control than we had in those early days. We have better roasters, so every batch is perfect, every time. We have better packaging too, so our coffee smells just as fresh when you open the bag as it did when we sealed it.
Some things will never change…
We still pick every bean by hand, harvesting only when the beans are cherry red. No mechanical harvesting that would mix bitter green beans in with the red. We have real people roasting your coffee and real people packing every order. And, we still cup every roast to be sure the taste of Aloha is spot on, every time.
At Koa Coffee, we have always been dedicated to offering our customers the finest Kona Coffee experience, while also sharing the beauty and Aloha of the Hawaiian Islands. That’s who we are, and that’s who we will always will be. Much, much Aloha to you!
Koa Peaberry Medium Roast Whole Bean Kona Coffee
Most coffee cherries contain two coffee beans nestled face to face. That’s why coffeebeans are flat on one side. But, about 3-5% of coffee cherries hold just one small oval-shaped bean instead of two flat-sided beans. These small oval beans are called “peaberry” beans. Peaberry kona coffee is rare simply because nature makes it so. Out of every 100 bags of Kona coffee, only 3-5 bags will be Peaberry.
Peaberry beans roast up wonderfully. Full bodied and smooth, with just a hint of bite. Connoisseurs have dubbed Peaberry the “Champagne of Kona.” As more coffee lovers discover this unique little bean with the big sassy taste, demand for peaberry is growing. Demand for peaberry is so high that we often have to purchase unroasted Peaberries from smaller farmers that don’t sell to the public. Even then we sometimes run out. Enjoy this decadent little bean that natures makes so rare.
The Best of the Best!
The Peaberry from KOA is my favorite Bean in the world. I even travel with a bag since I can’t drink anything else.
Peaberry Kona Coffee
Fell in love with this coffee when I visited the islands many years ago. Can’t resist the distinct taste of this coffee. Just the right mix of full bodied yet not over bearing coffee.
Peaberry Med. 5LB
My husband and I have been ordering a variety of Kona coffee beans from Koa for the past five years. We’ve always been satisfied with the quality of Koa coffee, never moreso than with the Peaberry. It is our favorite and an extra-special treat when it’s available at a discount. The beans are roasted to perfection, always brew smooth to the taste when ground and there is never a bitter taste. Try it. You’ll be glad you did.

Excellent!
This is one of the best coffees I have experienced.

Farm-direct: 100% Kona Coffee
Not all Peaberry Coffee is created equal, and it’s not region specific: every coffee growing region in the world is at least capable of producing peaberry coffee. However, some areas’ flavour profiles are more conducive to producing a better tasting cup of peaberry coffee.
There’s always other factors that affect flavour as well: freshness, roasting method, washing, etc.
